Kansas City has a rich history of musical excellence and deep cultural appreciation for the performing arts. We invite you to join us and make your own impression on that culture that our awesome city provides.

Our mission is to establish a premier youth wind ensemble in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The Kansas City Youth Wind Symphony will provide positive and life-changing musical experiences for high school musicians through high-quality instruction and exceptional music-making opportunities.

The goal of the KC Youth Wind Symphony (KCYWS) is to enhance the lives of its members and those in the Kansas City community by promoting musical excellence, cultivating a lifelong appreciation for music, and collectively serving as a cultural ambassador and advocate through performance on national and international stages. By challenging and nurturing its members musically, socially, and intellectually, the KCYWS seeks to foster the development of sophisticated musical skills and strong values among its members in an artistic and inclusive environment.
